My Englewood

When you write fiction you can take a place and shrink it to your needs. The Palisades and the Hudson River aren’t quite in walking distance (though Teddy Roosevelt who walked 13 miles a day for fun would probably disagree), but the quaintness of Englewood in the 1870’s as documented in the journals and memoirs of the day inspired me (along with a rare map of the town I found years into writing my novel). I imagined that Katherine McCullough Weldon actually sketched this out.

Anyway, I’m a sucker for maps in books and hope you are, too!
